ATLANTA SCHOOL SYSTEM HARMED CHILDREN AND THE WHISTLEBLOWER.

Naomi Williams, the teacher who exposed the CRCT test cheating scandal is in need of public support.  She was fired from her job in April 2009 and has not been able to find work.  A wrongful termination lawsuit has been filed.  The public should be outraged that Ms. Williams continues to suffer whistleblower retaliation when this women put her duty as a government employee and commitment to children before her own personal gain.

Ms. Williams, I commend you for doing the right thing.  Parents and other whistleblower teachers should step forward to support the courage you have shown to help children, the tax payer and the public at large.  Should you need assistance, please contact us.  This is a case whistlewatch.org will be following.

  1. Brenda McCracken says:

When citizens regret expressing concerns, you know a Culture of Silence has taken root. Our society is enabling the destruction of concerned citizens by people motivated to protect their own apathetic behavior from investigation. Naomi Williams reported a concern that she thought could lead to improvements in education, and now she’s being treated worse than a criminal.

Deryl Dedmon and his friends will receive more justice after killing a 49 year old auto plant worker “just because he was black” (link below). This hate crime could have been prevented if JUST ONE of Dedmon’s buddies had the courage to choose morality over SILENCE. James Anderson was the victim of a society where citizens will sacrifice their very humanity to avoid being labeled a “SNITCH”.

Bullies breed in the Culture of Silence that’s created when concerned citizens are labeled a “snitch”, and investigated with more vigor than the concern itself. To prevent a Culture of Silence from blooming in this country, it isn’t enough to just enforce retaliation laws against corporations, and it isn’t necessary for every citizen to report their every concern, although that would be a nice start. Only when individuals have enough courage to refuse to participate in retaliation will the Culture of Silence be abolished.
