Federal Whistleblowers Join Forces With Concerned Citizens to Protect the Public by Contacting Members of Congress to Fix & Pass Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act (WPEA)

AUGUST 15, 2012.

This is an update to the below article.  Momentum is building as many highly respected whistleblowers and concerned citizens sign on to the Open Letter.  Our humble thanks!

Over the past few days a renewed unity surfaced of federal whistleblowers who signed an Open Letter to members of Congress outlining weaknesses of the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act (WPEA).  The letter closes loopholes in former legislation, the Whistleblower Protection Act (WPA) which has proved disastrous in providing employment protection for whistleblowers employed by the federal government.

Despite legal protections provided to federal employees who blow the whistle under the WPA and No Fear Act , the Merit System Protection Board (WPEA) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) have repeatedly sided with federal agencies to remove whistleblowers who disclose fraud, waste, abuse, mismanagement and dangers to public health and safety.  Federal employees have a duty to protect the public interest.

Please join the effort to protect the people who protect the public.  Special thanks to all my colleagues and fellow whistleblowers.  Our voices will be heard.  Now take the Hill!
